Stockton University has a full-time position open for a Director of Financial Aid. We are looking for a person with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and a high degree of attention to detail are also essential. The position also requires strong database management and technology skills, including experience with integrated financial aid/student information systems. This position reports to the Chief Enrollment Management Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University’s Financial Aid Office

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge & Management of federal, state, and institutional aid programs
  • Monitors and reports on the distribution of financial aid
  • Ensures compliance with financial aid regulations of applicable agencies
  • Coordinates work with other University departments
  • Ability to focus on details and see multiple complex projects through to completion
  • Provide direction and management to the operation of the Financial Aid Office by overseeing the application, awarding, and disbursement of all federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid
  • Ensure that students of the University have adequate counseling resources related to their financial situation and their application for financial aid
  • Ensure all regulations related to aide sources are followed in a consistent, equitable, and timely manner
  • Research additional aid resources on behalf of the University in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans
  • Handle all escalated customer service issues as they relate to the Financial Aid Office
  • Provide outreach to local high schools to deliver financial aid workshops
  • Serve as the audit coordinator for internal and external financial aid audits
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in financial aid administration in a higher educational setting.
