Under the direction of the Director of the Office Continuing Studies supports  the recruitment of youth to the Salem County Out-of-School Youth Program, oversees their acquisition of work ready skills and insures their connection to work experience and unltimately employment.

This position will:

  • Support the recruitment of 10 eligible youth for training, work experience and employment
  • Identifies and builds relationships with Salem County employers with whom youth can acquire work experience and empoyment
  • Assess youths' skills education and interests, and supports their employment golas
  • Oversees, in partnership with the instructior, participants succesfful progress through the program
  • Insures all paperwork is correctlu completed and in accordance with the specified timeline and provides all documentation as required by the funder
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required:

  • Experience working with marginalized youth with significant barriers to success
  • Ability to build relationships with youth to maximize their skills, interests and needs leading to unsubsidized employment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of and/or connections to Salem County communities
  • Familiarity with Workforce NJ rules, regulations and processes
