In alignment with the strategic priorities of the Division of Student Affairs and those of the University, Stockton seeks an individual with experience in fostering inclusive environments for diverse communities. The Associate Director of Event Services and Campus Center Operations serves in a management role, supporting initiatives identified within the Engagement and Community Development strategic priority. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the programs and services offered within 154,000 square foot Campus Center promote an inviting and inclusive environment for student, faculty, staff and community engagement. The Associate Director supports the event services function to efficiently and effectively schedule and coordinate facilities and support services for an operation that processes over 21,000 bookings annually. The Associate Director should demonstrate passion and commitment to diversity and inclusive student success.

  1. Assisting with supervisory and budgetary responsibilities for the Office of Event Services and Campus Center Operations.
  2. Training, supervising and evaluating two Facility Coordinators, two Graduate Coordinators and one support staff assigned to the Campus Center Operations function.
  3. Evaluating, scheduling and coordinating facilities and support services for high profile campus-wide events. Developing logistical plans and schematic drawings for events. Serving as liaison to venue managers and support service providers.
  4. Overseeing the operations of the Information Desk and Game Room, including the use of technology, the management of ticket sales and revenue, the maintenance of systems, the repairs of equipment, and the tracking of inventories.
  5. Establishing and maintaining a system of regular inspections aimed at providing a healthy, safe and professional environment within the Campus Center. Serving as a liaison to Facilities Planning, Plant Management and Risk Management regarding all service and maintenance work performed in or around the facility. 
  6. Overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive student staff training program.
  7. Establishing business and operational procedures. Overseeing the production and updating of manuals.
  8. Working collaboratively with all auxiliary enterprises located in the Campus Center. Serving as liaison to off-campus sites as it relates to building management and operations.
  9. Conducting research and assessment. Generating and analyzing utilization reports.
  10. Assisting with major events including, but not limited to, Open House, New Student Orientation, University Weekend and Commencement.
  11. Performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean/Director, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs or Vice President for Student Affairs.
  12. Demonstrate, through past accomplishments and actions, the ability to support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission.

Required Qualifications:  Candidates must meet both of the following minimum qualifications in order to be eligible for consideration.

  • Earned master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of full-time, professional experience in student union or related facility operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with fiscal matters related to managing budgets and initiating quotes and contracts.
  • Professional experience related to student programming.
  • Professional experience in event planning or scheduling.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology applications that support the functions of event scheduling, Information Desk operations, ticketing services or building management.
  • Experience with training, supervising, and evaluating student employees or full-time staff.
  • Experience with facility inspections, enhancements, repairs, renovations, or construction.
  • Training in emergency preparedness and response protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other campus or community partners.
