In alignment with the mission and strategic priorities of the Division of Student Affairs and those of the University,  Stockton seeks a dynamic leader with demonstrated knowledge and experience in serving students from underserved populations.  The ideal candidate for the Executive Director, Educational Opportunity and Success Programs (EOSP) will possess the ability to provide direct leadership for day-to-day operations associated with the Educational Opportunity Fund Program (Atlantic City and Galloway campuses) and Student Success Services.  This individual should be a dynamic strategic planner, who is innovative with respect to program design, implementation, and assessment.  Major programmatic areas should emphasize the provision of financial, academic, and personal support in promoting the inclusive student success of the students served by the EOSP office.  In close collaboration with campus stakeholders, the successful candidate should also possess the ability to implement initiatives that support and enhance students’ educational and social experiences, thereby improving their overall retention and graduation rates, as well as reducing their time-to-degree.  The Executive Director, EOSP will serve as the University’s primary liaison to the Educational Opportunity Fund State Office, ensuring that both the Atlantic City and Galloway programs are following prescribed regulations and guidelines.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for implementing a Student Success coaching model that aligns with the tenets of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program (Atlantic City and Galloway campuses), and serves as the foundation for serving all EOSP students.  Finally, the ideal candidate should be a strong manager and leader, a strategic thinker and planner, and should possess the necessary interpersonal skills to foster innovative programming ideas that will lead EOSP into achieving new levels of excellence and success.

  • Provide leadership and vision for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program (Galloway and Atlantic City campuses) in accordance with the Secretary of Higher Education, EOF regulations and guidelines, as well as the mission and strategic priorities of the Division of Student Affairs and the University. 
  • Provide leadership and vision for Student Success Services in alignment with the mission and strategic priorities of the Division of Student Affairs and the University.
  • Oversee programming and assessment activities, and supervise professional, clerical, and student staff for both EOF (Galloway and Atlantic City campuses) and Student Success Services.
  • Administer and monitor the EOF and Student Success Services budgets, including management of EOF Achieve funds in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid; seek alternative funds via grants and fundraising activities.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Enrollment Management in identifying, recruiting, and admitting EOF eligible students, and in planning orientation activities for students pre-admitted into Student Success Services.
  • Direct the establishment and maintenance of EOF student files, while adhering to all confidentiality laws.
  • Supervise the Early Alert process for EOF and Student Success Services; manage other academic monitoring processes and retention efforts for EOF and Student Success Services.
  • Manage regular implementation of community engagement and career development activities for EOF students and alumni as well as students registered with Student Success Services.
  • Lead the EOF Program Advisory Board and manage its operations in accordance with EOF regulations.
  • Manage the Alliance of Educational Opportunity Students of New Jersey (A.E.S.N.J.) and the Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society.
  • Plan and supervise the EOF Summer Academy for the Galloway and Atlantic City campuses.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with faculty as well as University and state administrators. 
  • Maintain involvement in the EOF professional organization, and attend state EOF Board and budget meetings.
  • Develop and prepare the EOF Annual Report, the annual budget, the Summer Assessment Report as well as other financial and statistical documents requested by the University and the Commission on Higher Education; evaluate program performance and make recommendations for improvements when necessary.
  • Oversee the development of annual goals and learning outcomes as well as service and program assessment for the EOF Program (Galloway and Atlantic City campuses) and Student Success Services.
  • Partner with The Office of Development and Alumni Relations to steward relationships with alumni and to increase individual, corporate, foundation, and government support. 
  • Integrate EOF and Student Success Services in a manner that aligns with the vision for the Student Transitions, Access and Retention strategic area, while ensuring that each program meets its individual goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President, Student Transitions, Access and Retention and the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Higher Education or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least seven years of progressive experience working with underserved college student populations and promoting inclusive student success.
  • Extensive budget management and program development experience.
  • Expertise in developing learning outcomes and assessment of programmatic areas.
  • At least five years of experience supervising professional, clerical, and student staff.
  • Experience working directly with all campus stakeholders as it relates to identifying at-risk college students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing opportunity, access, or TRIO funded programs at a four-year college or university.
  • Prior knowledge of New Jersey State regulations as it relates to the Educational Opportunity Fund Program.
  • Prior experience supervising staff in a collective bargaining environment.
