Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President for HR, the Senior Human Resource Generalist will approve, evaluate and compile recruitment materials; coordinate all employee engagement activities, interprets applicable laws, policies, rules and regulations; plans, and designs organization structures, provides technical advice to peers, management and others; confers with leadership on policies and procedures.

  • Provide Support to the Talent Acquisition team by developing, facilitating and implementing all phases of the recruitment process including:
  • Background check process
  • Compensation Analysis
  • Advertisement
  • Onboarding
  • Diversity initiatives
  • Immigration
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria
  • Oversee Managerial Evaluation Review Process
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective operational methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards and needs of the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and training initiatives
  • Oversight of Classified Recruitment/Reclassification process
  • Responsible for processing faculty reappointment
  • Act as a liaison between the Office of Human Resources between state agencies and internal departments
  • Serve as a backup for the Benefits team as required with primary responsibility for the EAP
  • Track and provide recruitment metrics.
  • Identify systems, processes and resources to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Human Resources

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Note:  Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis
  • Four years of Human Resources experience
  • Note: A Master’s degree may be substituted for one year of required experience
  • Note: A Ph.D. may be substituted for two years of required experience
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience in personnel recruitment
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases
  • Familiarity with social media and other job boards
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with Banner
Bachelor's Degree
Four years of Human Resources experience
