Job Description Overview

  • The Office of Event Services & Campus Center Operations is seeking a responsible and motivated individual who can work a flexible daytime/evening/weekend schedule. This position is excellent training for individuals who seek a career in a variety of fields that value customer service, organization, independence, and leadership. It offers hands-on experience in the following areas: building operations, supervision, and event management.

Length of Employment

  • One semester commitment with an opportunity for renewal with satisfactory performance and evaluation.

Remuneration

  • $12 per hour with a commitment of 8-25 hours per week; some weekend and evening hours required
  • Opportunities for professional development including on-campus workshops and conferences   

The Operations Assistant, under the supervision of the Facility Coordinator for Campus Center Operations, will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide information, ticketing, and lost and found services to students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Provide on-site facility management including the enforcement of facility- and program-related policies
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and functional facility by conducting walkthroughs and reporting/ responding to emergencies, injuries, damaged/missing property, and incidents
  • Provide event assistance, including guest relations and audio visual setup and troubleshooting
  • Supervise Game Room operations and manage equipment rentals
  • Utilize technology to complete tasks and to deliver services to customers
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff trainings with Event Services & Campus Center Operations student staff
  • Assist with University-wide programs, dances, and other special events
  • Assist with the implementation of Campus Center-sponsored programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Candidates must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Stockton University with a minimum of 12 credits per semester during the period of employment
  • Must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 during the period of employment
