The Stockton University IT Help Desk provides the best possible customer service experience for IT technical assistance for campus community members.  ITS Help Desk Student Assistants are responsible for assisting IT Help Desk staff members with daily IT support operations and are responsible for the following duties:

 The student worker ITS help desk student assistant is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

 

  • Provide technical assistance to Campus Community Members by telephone, email, and in person either at the ITS Help Desk counter, classroom, or University office.
  • Operate and maintain service request ticket system to document IT support service request.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on a variety of computer systems in both an academic instructional setting as well business offices.
  • Provide support to Campus Community Members with accessing IT supported services including University provided wireless access, printers, computers, and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues for computers, printers, and other University managed and supported devices.
  • Perform hardware operation checks on instructional computing equipment as well as maintain campus printers with paper and toner as required.
  • Create new and maintain existing IT support documentation as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by designated IT Help Desk staff supervisor.
  • Must be enrolled at Stockton University as an active student.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
  • Outstanding professional demeanor and excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
  • working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and other common software applications of similar functionality.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.

*Candidates must be currently enrolled at Stockton University during the time of employment.
