This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

As a condition of employment, you are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination prior to your start date. Vaccination cards should be submitted to hr-medrec@stockton.edu.  If you are unable to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for medical or religious reasons, or reasons related to a current pregnancy, you may submit a waiver request.  If you are approved for an exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, you will be required to wear a mask while indoors on campus when you cannot be socially distanced, and you will be required to be tested for COVID-19 by the University on a regular schedule.

Under the supervision of the News & Media Relations Director, the TES is responsible for performing communication related functions; assists in the development, production and distribution of University publications and special projects; develops content for University publications, web pages and marketing campaigns, consulting as needed with the News & Media Relations Director, Digital Engagement Director, Director of Publications & Special Projects, and Executive Director of University Relations & Marketing, in accordance with university policies and procedures; does related work as required.  Work hours may include occasional weekends and evenings.

Examples of work include but are not limited to:

  • Writes and edits copy for University publications, including but not limited to Stockton’s electronic magazine, weekly newsletter, bimonthly newsletter and annual report
  • Assists in the development, production and distribution of University publications and special projects
  • Assists in the preparation and distribution of event notices and press releases
  • Assists in the development and distribution of social media content
  • Assists in updating media lists, contacts and university media resource web sites
  • Serves as liaison for assigned University beats and works closely with the University Relations & Marketing’s (URM) communications team to develop story ideas and content for a variety of URM projects
  • Contributes content for the University’s homepage and URM web pages, blogs, social media accounts, marketing campaigns and press releases
  • Provides on-scene reporting and photography as assigned by supervisors at all Stockton locations and off-campus if needed
  • Participates in team operations including daily briefing meetings and updating web; participates in URM projects, including brainstorming ideas, and developing content for marketing campaigns and other projects
  • Support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
