This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

The AACSB accredited School of Business at Stockton University, invites applications for a full-time annually renewable, non-tenure track, Teaching Specialist position in Computer Information Systems starting September 2022.

  • This position involves teaching face to face and online computer Information Systems courses equivalent to 32 TCH at the undergraduate level, The selected candidate must teach Computer Networking and Statistics, and three other upper-level classes such as Enterprise Resource Planning, Advanced System Analysis, Advanced Database, and Digital Forensics, plus "CIS Overview".  Other desired courses include Cloud Computing, Network & System Administration, Mobile and Web Application Programming, Cyber-Analytics, and Malware Analysis
  • Tailor courses by planning and seeking program approval for course syllabi, textbooks, and major deliverables
  • Excellence in teaching is expected
  • Demonstrate, through past accomplishments and actions, a desire to keep up to date with the latest techniques in teaching, including the latest pedagogy and technology in teaching online and hybrid courses
  • Serve as preceptor to students
  • Position will most likely involve teaching at both of Stockton’s instructional sites, in Galloway, NJ and in Atlantic City (which are approximately 12 miles apart
  • Service to the Computer Information Systems Program and University needs, such as responsibilities of Assessment of Student Learning, developing & maintaining liaisons with appropriate professional groups and industry partners
  • Support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission

Required Qualifications:

  • Min. MA/MS in Computer Information Systems or a related discipline (such as Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Admn with Information Systems conc.)
  • Evidence of potential for teaching and service in the Computer Information Systems field 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related industry work experience
  • Preference will be given to CIS scholars or practitioners who have demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Potential for research in the Computer Information Systems field
  • Exposure to or experience within the liberal arts
  • Experience with assessment and/or ABET accreditation
